Travellers, armchair and actual, can now receive personalised travel inspiration through Qantas’s new Facebook Messenger bot, Qantas Concierge.
Think of it as having a chat with an extremely well-travelled friend on Facebook. Considering booking a beachside AirBnB? Wondering which Greek island you should choose for your next escape? Want to know what’s happening on Melbourne’s restaurant scene? Interested in sale information? Just ask Qantas Concierge and you’ll receive content from Qantas Travel Insider curated just for you.
Qantas customers are already using Facebook Messenger as a way of communicating with customer services about bookings and flight information, receiving tailored responses to their queries. Sharing travel inspiration was the next step.
It’s all part of Qantas’s plan to provide round-the-clock customer communication – like a travel-agent Facebook friend.
To start, just search for Qantas in Messenger. You can choose to chat with someone from Customer Support or you can start talking to the Qantas Concierge Bot for travel inspiration. When you select inspiration, you'll browse city, beach, culture or hotel and Airbnb guides curated by Travel Insider. From there, you can make a booking from the guide or click straight through to the booking page from Messenger.
As Qantas Concierge gets to know you, the service will evolve to become more personalised and user-friendly based on your past conversations. Eventually Qantas Concierge will be able to help customers with itineraries, flight updates, gate changes and even boarding passes, and customer support will become even more streamlined.
