Stylist and designer Sophia Banks-Coloma has a dream client base that includes actresses Kirstie Alley, Kristin Chenoweth and Amber Heard. The 32-year-old, from Sydney’s eastern suburbs, has been based in Los Angeles for the past eight years. Recently, she’s been involved in the costume design for the upcoming movie adaptation of Maxx Barry’s Syrup. Here are the LA shops that separate her from her dosh.

Satine (8134 West 3rd Street) carries amazing, of the moment designers like Yigal Azrouel; a super-cool, up-and-coming label out of New York, Hemistone (a new brand I am in love with), Nina Ricci, and cult labels Preen and Isabel Marant. Satine is a favourite shopping destination for many stars such as Katie Holmes, Rachel Bilson, Nicole Richie and Sienna Miller.
For those that like to sleep under the stars in style, enjoy our gallery of the some of the best “glamping” locations from around the world. Sleeping bags not required.

Curve (154 North Robertson Boulevard) is one of the original Roberston boulevard boutiques. I love the sophisticated atmosphere and gorgeous decor. Their roster of high-end brands such as Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Carven and Helmut Lang are sure to quicken your pulse. And the boutique is a celeb hot spot, so don’t be surprised if you run into Jennifer Aniston or Kate Bosworth.

Confederacy (4661 Hollywood Boulevard, Los Feliz) in the neighbourhood of Los Feliz, owned by DJ Danny Masterson is my go-to boutique for great menswear. Featuring favourites such as Rag & Bone, Gant and Albert Hammond Jr, Confederacy is famous for keeping a collection of distinguished art covering the brick walls and their phone booth inspired dressing rooms (with actual phones to call a salesperson) give the space a very New York vibe.

Creatures of Comfort (7971 Melrose Avenue) keeps a really interesting and eclectic mix of brands stocked for men and women. Some favourites are Opening Ceremony, Patrik Ervell, Acne, Illesteva glasses and Volta Strada shoes. The shopping experience at Creatures of Comfort is made so memorable by the super sweet and helpful staff.

Beckley (8620 Melrose Avenue) carries so many favourite brands such as Pleasure Doing Business, Chris Benz, Erickson Beamon jewellery, Zac Posen and Sass & Bide. The customer service is amazing and the space is so bright and cheerful. You may even spot a celeb. Jaime King, Busy Philipps and Selma Blair are known to shop there regularly.

Decades (8214 1/2 Melrose Avenue) is owned by Cameron Silver, one of Time's 25 Most Influential Names and Faces in Fashion, and beloved for high-end vintage finds such as YSL and many others. Their inventory is strong in all eras, but their focus is mainly 1970s. This spot is a celeb go-to for such stars as Selma Blair, Kate Moss and Charlize Theron.

Heist Boutique (1100 Abbot Kinney Boulevard, Venice Beach) has loads of great designer finds, like boho chic Of Two Minds blouses and jackets, awesome Golden Goose bags and boots and hot new LA designer Raquel Allegra's reworked, modernised vintage pieces.
