Shangarila Restaurant, Bangkok

Reasonable dim sum is served in this eatery that is as hectic outside as in (girls sell dim sum and cakes to passers-by from a counter on the pavement). The Shangarila is hardly lovely, but it looks and feels authentically 1950s or ’60s – just like the gold merchants and garment shops down the road.
