As you reach for your apple colada at Scena’s luminous bar, a magician may appear at your elbow, beseeching you to “pick a card, any card”. And that really is a tightrope walker clad in red leather booties, zebra-print tights and red satin bloomers hovering overhead as you tuck into sesame-coated tuna in the colourfully chic dining room. The perennially entertaining Scena, an amalgam of escena (stage) and cena (dinner), also runs exhibitions, shows films and always has a musical groove simmering away in the background.
