As much a part of London as bobbies and black cabs, Ronnie Scott’s is still the capital’s jazz venue du jour in this, its 50th-birthday year. In the 1960s, Ronnie’s was the gateway to Europe for American jazzers including Ella Fitzgerald and Dizzy Gillespie. It remains the definitive place to play for rising British stars and international big hitters alike. So, dress smart-casual, enjoy a meal and/or a drink and toe-tap to a June line-up that includes Kenny Garrett, Buddy Greco and Terry Reid.
