A bakery and Italian pasticceria with a full cocktail bar. Milan’s Rocco Princi, known as “the Armani of bread”, opened his Claudio Silvestrin-designed flagship last November. Stop by for great breakfast pastries or the irresistible ham-and-cheese faggottini of soft white piadina bread with a glass of Italian red at the long share tables.
Buy: green-olive baguettes.

A pastry, fresh juice and great coffee in the heart of Soho is the best way to start the day. Princi is the London offshoot of Rocco Princi’s famous Milanese bakery, with backing from Alan Yau, and the design is every bit as good as the food. Watch the bakers slide trays of fresh sourdough or pastries into the huge wood-fired oven. Go back for lunch or dinner when the cocktail bar opens and pizza and salads are on display. A great place for a snack or to sit at the bar and watch Soho on parade.
