With its boutique feel and fabulous location near Sloane Square’s restaurants and fashion boutiques, Phoenix House is great for the high-achieving duo hoping to get away from the madding crowd for a while.

The impeccably presented property – its 33 Fox Linton Associates-designed apartments feature glass balustrades and original Victorian windows – is also a halfway house between the benefits of a high-end hotel and the privacy of your own apartment. Hotel perks include the onsite fitness centre, on-demand concierge and nanny services, and even access to nearby French restaurant Le Cercle via a private entrance. Mind you, with sumptuous goose-down quilts, luxurious Frette linen and the latest Bang & Olufsen sound system, making it downstairs might be a struggle. And you could quite easily sustain yourself on the contents of Phoenix’s complimentary organic welcome hamper.

A concierge is on hand 24 hours a day to restock the fridge with marmite and plum jam, or to book hair and personal shopper appointments.

Top choice for: the alpha couple.
