Peppermint Bay, Woodbridge, Tasmania

3435 Channel Highway, Woodbridge, Tasmania, Australia.
+61 3 6267 4088.

About 40 minutes south of Hobart, Peppermint Bay overlooks d’Entrecasteaux Channel and Bruny Island. Dine in the informal Local Bar, which has outside tables, or the more formal dining room. Choose from cheap and cheerful pizza and pasta through to a platter of Tasmanian lobster and Bruny Island oysters, or a bowl of Spring Bay mussels in a tomato and white wine broth. Desserts have a comfort quotient – apple pie with vanilla bean ice-cream, or warm chocolate and orange pudding. Cruises that stop for lunch leave Hobart’s Brooke Street Pier.
Open: lunch daily, dinner Wed-Sat. Licensed. Mains $11-$32, seafood at market price.

  • The cruise from hobart is very nice and so is the restaurant. The town itself is one of those places that if you blink you will miss it.
