  • Marunouchi Hotel, Tokyo
Originally built in the 1930s, the Marunouchi was rebuilt in 2004. It is across the road from Tokyo station and a 10-minute walk from the Imperial Palace. The tastefully decorated rooms are always quiet, whether they overlook the station or the hotel’s inner garden. The small spa offers reflexology treatments. The Marunouchi has a Japanese-French and two Japanese restaurants. There is a variety of eateries in the area, particularly underneath Tokyo station. Although the hotel caters more to businessmen, most staff speak English.
