Lotus Temple, South Delhi
Resembling an artfully piled heap of fruit segments, the marble and dolomite Lotus Temple in Kalkaji is a Qutb for the modern age – a dramatic prayer space set among glinting pools and lush gardens. Designed in the late 1980s by avant-garde Iranian architect Fariburz Sabha, it is Asia’s only place of worship for devotees of the Bahá’í faith.
