You don’t have to be a Hollywood A-lister to live like one in Los Angeles. This is an access-all-areas pass to some of La La Land’s best hang-outs, where luxury lodging is complemented by quality in-house dining.
The good news for visitors to Los Angeles is that luxury accommodation focuses on quality in-house dining. In a city notoriously difficult to get around, having a great bar and restaurant in your hotel, or within walking distance, is a plus. And if you’d rather not leave your room at all, there’s always the room-service menu by your in-house celebrity chef. As film critic Rex Reed once said, “In Hollywood, if you don’t have happiness, you send out for it.” Here’s a look at LA’s best sleep/eat combos.

Peak season in LA
When it comes to luxury accommodation, peak season in LA is “awards season”, which starts with the Golden Globes (January 17 2010) and ends with the Oscars (March 7 2010). In between there are the Screen Actors Guild Awards (January 23 2010), the Grammys (January 31 2010) and the Independent Spirit Awards (March 5 2010). Northern Hemisphere summer months are otherwise generally busier than winter, especially for hotels with rooftop bars and pools.
