Since debuting their eponymous label at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia in 2014, sisters Beth and Tessa MacGraw have secured their place in the local market. Thanks to their soft silhouettes and distinctive prints, the sisters can count Coco Rocha and Lorde as fans. Impressed? They also recently won the notable BT Emerging Fashion Designer Award 2016. Here, the sisters open their little black book, sharing the stylish spots they frequent in Sydney when they’re off-duty.
Favourite breakfast spot
We love Ruby’s Diner in Waverley. It’s the best – everything about it. We love that they’ve got organic options and they’re so efficient. You can’t go wrong with the avocado and roast tomato or the scrambled eggs on toast.
Best boutique fashion
The Intersection at Paddington is great. Our favourite boutique there is definitely Acne – we especially love their shoes. When we’re there, we also pop into Jackie’s or Print Room for a Champagne. We also love the Strand Arcade, which is perfect on a rainy day. We love the Corner Shop – our label is stocked there so it’s always great to visit.
Great vintage shopping
Our favourite spot for vintage is King Street in Newtown – not just for clothes but also cool furniture, homewares and accessories. We like to wander down the street and just browse. Tessa once bought a really special King Louis corner chair with pink velvet upholstery – it’s incredible.
A shop not to miss
A store we think is a cool little unknown place is Désordre on South Dowling Street in Darlinghurst. It’s in a townhouse and it’s really small. You can go in there and find something special every time.
We love markets. For a fashionable find, it’s Bondi Markets on Sundays. We love to just browse the stalls. The food is good, too, and the market is full of interesting people. Afterwards, we each get a coconut water and sit by the beach.
Indulgent beauty spots
The Nail Lab in Darlinghurst and Edwards and Co. in Surry Hills are both beautiful places to be pampered.
We can’t go past 10 William St in Paddington. The corner table at the front in the window downstairs is great if you can get it. We always have a Prosecco.
