July is shaping up to be a bumper month for music, food, wine and design festivals on both sides of the equator. As the Industry Insider inbox reaches capacity, here’s a quick pick of the latest festival news to come by our radar:

Singapore Food Festival: From 17–26 July, Singapore will be abuzz with food stalls, demonstrations and culinary workshops as the theme of this year’s Food Festival centres on Peranakan food. Special food and drink events in Chinatown, Little India and Kampong Glam Malay spotlighting the country’s most favoured meal time, supper, will also be a highlight.

State of Design Festival – Melbourne: The Victorian capital plays host to more than 75 design related events from 15-25 July. The events fall under four main umbrellas – the Premier’s Design Awards, Design Capital, Design for Everyone and Design Made Trade.

Roskilde Festival – Denmark: One of Europe’s biggest music festivals kicks off 2 July in Denmark’s rocking city of Roskilde. The four day event will host the likes of Coldplay, Oasis, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Kanye West, Grace Jones, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and the Pet Shop Boys. The entire program contains around 175 artists.

The 2009 Boryeong Mud Festival – Daecheon Beach, South Korea: Not everyone’s idea of an enjoyable day out, but one that does seem to capture the enthusiasm of almost 100,000 pundits the world over. For nine days in July (11-19th), locals and tourists flock to Daecheon Beach in Chungcheongnam-do Province to partake in mud wrestling, mud massages and mud slides, all the while soaking in the beneficial minerals the mud supposedly contains.

Californian Wine Festival: If you’re lucky enough to be in Santa Barbara, make sure you’re there from 16-18 July for the city’s annual wine festival. Soak up the sun while being entertained by live jazz bands and speciality food purveyors, while, of course, sipping on California’s best white and red.
