Dragon Palace, Perth

Peter Forrestal

66 Francis Street, Northbridge, Perth, Western Australia, Australia.
+61 8 9228 2888.

The two-level building in the heart of Northbridge offers yum cha on the first level for 400 diners, with karaoke on the second level. There’s all the ordered chaos you’d expect in a large, constantly packed venue, with speedy service at all times. There are the usual favourites – steamed dim sum, rice flour rolls and pan-fried or deep-fried dim sum – as well as a selection of more expensive lunch dishes. Standouts include fluffy barbecue pork buns, pan-fried chive dumplings and scallops on shell. For the more daring: seaweed rolls, whitebait, chicken feet, beef tripe and jellyfish. Finish with refreshingly sweet watermelon juice.
Open: lunch/yum cha & dinner daily. Licensed. Yum cha $4-$6 per dish.
