Donghuamen Night Market, Beijing
Now an institution, this 200m strip of outdoor stalls springs to life around 5pm, providing a fun and inexpensive way to sample local foods. From the infamous skewered scorpions to more palatable offerings such as Muslim lamb skewers, glutinous rice cakes, sweet red bean jelly or vegetable pancakes, grazing is easy with more than 100 dishes.
