There are no lemons at Citron, quips the manager, in reply to a question about the menu. Two things here are probably true: you can’t go wrong with the menu, and choosing presents the nicest dilemma. Because it’s October, I forwent warming oxtail claypot with shiitakes, pork and coriander dumplings, star anise and
cassia bark, and had the barramundi in ginger-scented broth and braised savoy cabbage. This followed mizuna and sliced eggplant, delicate and thin-crispy beyond description. Such fragrant, light flavours are perfect for subtropical Brisbane and dining is as congenial inside in winter as it is in summer on the breezy verandah. Citron has a discerning following, chattery and spirited, thanks to the piquant modern Asian flavours and calm professionalism of the floor staff, led in each department by the owners. Desserts are triumphant, on no account to be missed.
Open: lunch Tue-Sun, dinner Tue-Sat. Licensed. Mains $27-$34.Website Source:

Citron is a special place where desserts are taken seriously. Professionally run, well-established and with quite a good wine list and separate bar, its menu contains the excitement of modern pairings, restrained styling and beckoning ingredients. Its desserts are a triumph: bombe alaska spice cake with pineapple compote, pandanus ice-cream and kaffir lime meringue; coconut sticky rice, poached jackfruit, sesame wafer and palm sugar syrup; chocolate, chilli
and coconut spring rolls with cherry sorbet.
Open: lunch Tue-Sun, dinner Tue-Sat. Licensed. Desserts $12.
