With a giant Rolex clock, marble bar and timber railway banquettes, nightlife impresario Serge Becker (La Esquina, The Box) has turned his culinary compass in the unlikely direction of Switzerland (don’t fear: there’s no Alpine iconography here). The cuisine strikes a similar note between tradition and modernity, including a plump bratwurst with caramelised onion gravy at $US14; a light-as-air chicken schnitzel ($US16) and an obligatory potato rosti ($US6). Wash all that down with the house Côtes du Rhône, moderately priced at $US14 a glass.
