Parked on a corner of hipster-trodden Nolita (north of Little Italy), this enormously popular eatery looks like an old luncheonette you’d find on Miami’s Calle Ocho. Waits for tables can be 30 minutes or more (people-watching time), but the healthy Cuban Mexican fare, which includes a great Cuban sandwich ($US7), burritos and spicy grilled corn, is worth it. The restaurant adopts sustainable practices, so it’s as friendly to the earth as it is to your savings account.
