Pack your credit card and head to these fine shopping precincts in Queensland's Gold Coast. By Emily McAuliffe and Natascha Mirosch.

If you want everything in one place

Pacific Fair has long been a Gold Coast favourite but a $670 million redevelopment has injected serious wow factor, making it one of Australia’s largest shopping centres. Retail outlets such as Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton and the Chanel beauty boutique surround a resort-style courtyard to ensure shopping is seamlessly integrated with your beach holiday experience.

If you’re looking for Australian favourites

With more than 350 stores, Robina Town Centre is another shopping giant with the lot and can be reached using a free shuttle bus from the coastal strip. Browse Australian labels such as Carla Zampatti, Sass & Bide, R. M. Williams, Mimco, Tigerlily and Oroton. Then sit down for an alfresco lunch along the lakefront promenade, which is a stylish alternative to the average food court.

If you like luxury

The pointed white sails of the Marina Mirage signal Gold Coast luxe. Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and high-end boutiques adorn the retail and dining precinct, which borders the Palazzo Versace hotel. On Saturday mornings, visit the covered food market to pick up gourmet goods such as homemade relish and designer cupcakes.

If you want to shop with the locals

Escape the shopping centre frenzy with a stroll through the chilled beachside suburb of Burleigh Heads. The main thoroughfare on James Street not only has quaint homewares and local designer stores interspersed with trendy cafés but also gives a true sense of the Southern Gold Coast’s relaxed vibe.
